Natural Ochres with acrylic binder on Milkwood with metal base affixed for stability.
Garry is one of the most accomplished carvers among the internationally respected Aboriginal sculptors on the west coast of Cape York at Aurukun. Working with the Wik & Kugu Art and Culture Centre, this is a superb carving from a single piece of milkwood (tail affixed) and captures the essential nature and character of the indigenous dingo (decorated with red and white spots, the sculptor humourously implies the dingo cross-bred with a spotted European dog).
