Ceremonial Boomerang from the Fitzroy Crossing region created by Hanson Boxer, using stained hardwood in the form of a significant killing boomerang, for hunting large animals including crocodiles. A magnificent contemporary example of traditional Aboriginal carving which, in this case has been carved with a combination of modern tools and stone. The fluting on the boomerang’s ‘wing side’ is totally stone cut. A superb instrument and quite rare.
